The emergence of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) represents a critical challenge in both human and veterinary medicine. This review examines the current state of antimicrobial stewardship in veterinary practice, highlighting the role of responsible drug use in mitigating resistance development. Emphasis is placed on surveillance systems, regulatory frameworks, and innovations in diagnostic technologies that support targeted therapy. The integration of stewardship principles within the One Health framework is discussed, recognizing the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health. This article synthesizes recent findings and proposes strategic interventions to enhance antimicrobial stewardship in veterinary settings globally.
